Davanis have about 540 sayings (Mesal). Those sayings are expressed in short sentences and have a special rhythm and rhyme. Very little number of them came from the "Lori Ahmadi" and the "Kazeroon's Farsi" slangs with some changes. However, most of them are from the original davani Dialect and they are short and easy so that they are used in every conversation. You'll notice that the terms used in davani sayings are all derived from the famous animals live in DaVaN, and also from many cultural rituals. Here are 53 most popular davani sayings:

  1. Auzam-e deer jooshesh dikko cho a dassau:
    Means, a person who becomes angry so late, his/her anger is extreme. This saying is said to patient people, whose patience surprises others.


  2. Auzam-e veraujesh gapesh arzesh ni:
    Means, A big mouth person's words and point of view is worthless. This saying is said to a person who talks a lot and does nothing.


  3. Ato akhar oftosh gerdek vauzi, ato oftau beqalesh eshka:
    Means, a person who is riding a donkey fall down and found a piece of bread, and another fall and broke his arm. This saying is said when two people work together, and one of them gets lucky and succeeds while the other fails. In particular, this saying is about being lucky and unlucky.


  4. Ato rishesh meisu, ato meiga balaulet nemau?:
    Means, someone's beard is burning and another person asks if he wants some corn. This saying is said when someone is so sad and another person does not consider it and only thinks of his own benefits.


  5. Ay jon gozashtash komak eitiyauj ni:


  6. Asp-e khash row, ka vo josh ziyauz meikoren:
    Means, a fast hourse should be fed more. This saying is said if we want a person to work harder, we should pay him more.


  7. Aspi ke va piri talimesh hauzen, si dowr-e mordegon khuvau:
    Means, a hourse which was bred old is good for dead generations. This saying is said to people who want to build something in their old ages.

    Means, a goat drinks water from water springs. This saying is said to people who don't stick to their limit rights and they go over on other people's rights.

    Means, his head hasn't gone yet but his legs has been back. This saying is said to people who always keep on leaving and coming back.
